Senior Software Engineer

Job DescriptionInsight Global is looking for a Senior Engineer to join a large financial institution located in Burgess Hill for a 6 month ongoing contract. The candidate will be working within the International Card Services group to help increase new product introductions and increase product reach within European markets to increase revenue growth for the organization. The role focuses in 2 areas, Discovery and Implementation. The discovery portion will include working with various different engineering and product teams to identify potential pieces of work that can increase revenue growth and benefit various markets that have yet to have this product rolled out in. This requires candidates to be inquisitive by understanding the products as well as asking questions on how these features or products can be delivered, how they can be implemented and gaining information from various teams to make informed decisions. The second implementation area follows the discovery phase. This area focuses in on actually implementing what was found in the discovery phase, being hands on with actually writing doe, inner sourcing and working with the external teams to write the code, interrogate database, writing a config file in order to execute in different markets etc. As a result of all of this, strong stakeholder management and communication skills are imperative for this role. Additionally, due to the nature of this role, there is no one specific tech stack used. As such, it is imperative that the chosen candidate is not afraid to be inquisitive and unafraid of stepping outside their comfort zone on a technical level. Qualifications:6+ years of programming experienceExperience with Java, Go, Kotlin or PythonExperience with SQL database ideally Postgres or OracleExperience and knowledge ofautomationGeneral awareness of cloud computing Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem solving skills and possess an inquisitive mindsetStrong stakeholder management experience
