They offer a collaborative and friendly environment, and benefit from excellent retention.The Role:You will be a member of the Positioning Technology (PT) Software Engineering team focusing on innovative design, development and support of software applications for both current and next generation Positioning, Navigating and Timing Simulation test solutions.The role will report directly to one of the Software Team Managers and will have a close working relationship with peer level Project Management Office (PMO), Product Marketing, Engineering and Services team members.Key Responsibilities:Play a technical role in assigned Software projects as a member of the Software team.Contribute to the software development life-cycle from its design to implementation and validation.Work as part of the software and/or multi-disciplined Engineering teams to deliver projects and programs.Play a role in developing and defining new product concepts and ideas for both Product and Services.Connect with other functional areas within the organization to drive technical solutionsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline preferredJob Requirements:Longstanding, demonstrable experience of working within a structured engineering environment that includes Requirements Analysis/Definition, Design/Implementation, Defect Tracking, and TestingGood knowledge of modern C++.Experience using high level/scripting languages eg Python, Perl, bashGood understanding of Linux based operating systems architecture and how to optimize applications for performanceExperience developing multi-core/multi-threaded applicationsCan effectively apply client’s ISO accredited Product Realisation Process (PRP)Digital Signal Processing experienceProgramming for real time operating systemsKnowledge of GNSS signalsKnowledge or experience in Visual Studio productGood knowledge of Object-Oriented software principlesKnowledge of configuration management tools and software version controlKnowledge of CI best practiceAbility to contribute to and eventually lead multi-disciplinary projects through the Project Realisation ProcessPersonal Attributes:Concise, clear and professional communicationCommunicates effectively, listens sensitively, adapts communication to audience and fosters effective communication with others.Initiative — steps up and takes action without being asked.
