The team owns server technologies, data, tools, and cloud services for Roku's Marketing business. The Marketing Engineering team at Roku is looking for a seasoned software engineer with a background in large-scale, low latency, distributed real-time services and data pipelines to improve the delivery and performance of our marketing and content recommendations. Employees in this role are expected to be self-driven and willing and able to take complete ownership of initiatives and make pragmatic technical decisions.About the roleRoku pioneered TV streaming and continues to innovate and lead the industry. The Marketing Engineering team at Roku is focused on building the right products and services that help us provide the right communication to the right customers at the right time.The ideal candidate will have endless curiosity and can pair a global mindset with locally relevant execution. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs with the product and commercial teams within Roku and across external strategic partner organisations. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.What you'll be doingDesign and develop large scale, low latency systems to optimise the delivery of content and ads via marketing channelsDesign, develop, and maintain large-scale data applications and data pipelinesMonitoring and Automation: Deliver reliable production systems that can adapt to changing business environments and monitor themselves with minimal human handholdingWorking with product and business stakeholders to define, build and maintain features and componentsWe're excited if you haveDegree in Computer Science or equivalentExperience with developing large-scale, low latency systemsExperience with developing and fine-tuning distributed applications and microservices in Java/Go/similar languages is good to haveExperience with deploying services on Kubernetes with Helm/TerraformGood to have prior experience dealing with streaming and batch compute frameworks like Spring Kafka, Kafka Streams, Flink, Spark Streaming, SparkExperience with large-scale computing platforms, such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, NoSQL storesExperience with developing large-scale data pipelines is nice to haveExposure to UI development is nice to have#LI-PA1BenefitsRoku is committed to offering a diverse range of benefits as part of our compensation package to support our employees and their families.
