We’d love to have you join us!Role of the Software EngineerAs a Software Engineer at Verlume, you will play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge software solutions. You will be responsible for creating new software products and enhancing our existing portfolio to address evolving market demands. Additionally, you will contribute essential insights towards integrating diverse technologies, ensuring seamless functionality and delivering innovative software solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Software Engineer you will be responsible for:Design and Development:Design and develop new PLC-based Energy Management Systems.Writing complex programs from scratch and maintaining existing ones.Creating and maintaining libraries of blocks and programs based on existing logic.Tool Improvement:Improve and standardise company tools related to SCADA, PLC, SQL, Automation, BMS, and Controls.Configuration and Programming:Configure and program Human Machine Interface (HMI), controllers, and network (Modbus, BACnet, etc.) according to established standards.Testing and Commissioning:Take responsibility for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new and developed systems.Documentation:Prepare necessary documentation for projects and clients, including proposals for new projects.Create supporting documentation for software release and installation (manuals, build notes, service instructions, etc.).To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and behaviours:Strong experience in one or more of the following: SCADA, PLC, SQL, Automation, BMS, Controls.Proficient in programming using LADDER and SCL.Ability to write complex programs from scratch and maintain existing ones.Ideally (not essential), experience in Battery Management Systems (BMS) and communication protocols such as OPC-UA, SNMP, Syslog, CAN, Modbus, etc.Hold a technical degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, computing, controls, or related fields.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.Attention to detail in documentation and programming.Proactive approach to system improvements and standardization.Most important to us is that you are great fit for our team and culture, demonstrating behaviours aligned with our values.We are continually reviewing and improving our benefits package to ensure we support our team’s wellbeing both in and out of work.
