About the role:

The Homeless Young Person's Team support young people aged 16 and 17 years old who are at risk of homeless are homeless. We complete S.17 assessments in line with the Southwark Judgement and the Homeless Reduction Act

Duties of the Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner:

Provide direct social work services to homeless individuals and families, including assessments, case planning, and interventions.
Manage a caseload of complex cases, ensuring that all clients receive personalised and effective support.
Mentor and support junior staff and volunteers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Work closely with housing providers, mental health services, and other relevant organisations to coordinate comprehensive support for clients.
Respond to emergency situations involving homelessness, providing immediate support and referrals to appropriate services.
AAdvocate on behalf of clients to secure necessary resources and services, ensuring their rights and needs are met.
Requirements of the Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner:

Degree or equivalent in social work
Current Social Work England registration
Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
Would be ideal to have Homeless team experience
