Location : South Essex
Salary: £45,217 to £54,395 per annum (FTE)
Job type: Full time or part time applications (minimum 3 days per week) can be considered, along with flexible working arrangements. The advertised salary will be pro rata'd for part time hours.

About the Role:
Senior Social Workers are passionate in demonstrating expert and effective practice ability in complex situations. Managing your own complex caseload, as well as supporting colleagues with theirs, you'll be a source of specialist advice and enable the mitigation of high levels of risk. You'll also bring your professional expertise to contribute to the development of practice standards and our four key principles of prevention, early intervention, enablement and safeguarding.
You will work at the forefront of our community mental health treatment teams in the south Essex area providing EPUT's secondary mental health services. You will also provide specialist mental health knowledge and support to the Drug and Alcohol partnership within South Essex. The post requires an individual with a high degree of flexibility and creativity and a positive, forward-thinking attitude with experience in both Mental Health and Substance Misuse.
We are seeking enthusiastic and resourceful social workers who will have the ability to respond positively and creatively to the needs of our service users. You will play a key part in providing social care service and exemplar social work practice within the Recovery Wellbeing Community Mental Health Team ensuring that excellence of service is provided across the department. You will contribute to change management, concluding ECC's transformation and ensuring it is configured for continuous improvement adhering to the Key Performance Indicators as provided by ECC under the Section 75 partnership agreement.
You must be an excellent communicator, dynamic and well versed and assertive in multi-disciplinary working and developing and maintaining relationships with key partners.
About you:
Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration
Post-qualified 2 years with an in-depth knowledge of complex cases and The Care Act.
AMHP qualified with extensive experience within Mental Health and substance misuse.
Proven record of working complex cases and supporting other staff members. A worker who wants to develop and become part of the management Team.
Significant experience of social work, modelling good practice and providing advice and guidance in complex situations.
Ability to mentor both newly-qualified and experienced team members.
Expert in relevant professional practice, you should have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations and guidance.
Experience of chairing meetings involving clients, family members, carers and other multi-agency professionals
Ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
You'll also bring:
Evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
An in-depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
The ability to make clear decisions, to highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate. This is an annual subscription, and you will be responsible for ensuring this is maintained.
