We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and supporting complex cases, providing leadership within the team, and working collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies to deliver high-quality services. This role involves advocating for the needs of children with disabilities, conducting assessments, and developing tailored intervention plans. there are roles available in Margate and Tunbridge Wells.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Manage a caseload of complex cases involving children with disabilities, ensuring that their needs are met through comprehensive assessments and tailored intervention plans.
Leadership: Provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers and other team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Integrated Service Contribution: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including health professionals, educators, and community organisations, to ensure holistic support for children and their families.
Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of children with disabilities, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support.
Legislation and Policy Compliance: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of and adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection protocols.
Family Engagement: Build strong, trusting relationships with families, offering them support and guidance to navigate the complexities of caring for a child with disabilities.
Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices and developments in the field of social work, particularly concerning children with disabilities, and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Social Worker with a degree or equivalent and a valid registration with Social Work England
Significant experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide leadership within a team.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including safeguarding and child protection protocols.
