Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join us as a Senior Social Value Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in project or programme management and Social Value to play a key role in driving positive change across our council.
As our Senior Social Value Programme Officer, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to prioritise community well-being and social impact. You'll have the exciting opportunity to project manage key elements of a council-wide programme on Social Value, supporting effective partnership arrangements to advance our key Council Delivery Plan priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate across the council and the borough to develop, implement, and review our approach to delivering Social Value.
Conduct research on policy development to inform our Social Value strategies.
Engage with the community and businesses to ensure our plans are inclusive and effective.
Oversee governance, commissioning, and performance management processes.
Project manage an effective council-wide framework on Social Value, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
Serve as a key liaison with external strategic partners, building and maintaining networks of strategic influence.
Provide advice, guidance, and training to commissioners, procurers, contact managers and suppliers on Social Value initiatives.
Produce and present reports to senior leaders of the council on Social Value matters
How will you make an impact as our Senior Social Value Programme Officer?
Previous Programme delivery experience in Social Value projects, preferably within a local authority, charity or public sector organisation.
Is experienced in Social Value projects dedicated to community-centric approaches.
Brings dynamism, strategic thinking, and innovation to address challenges in securing Social Value.
Possesses an understanding of the economic, political, and social issues affecting communities in Southwark.
You will have a track record of developing project plans, coordinating resources, and ensuring timely delivery of objectives.
We are looking for individuals who have experience working with internal teams, participating in working groups, and effectively managing stakeholders at all levels. This is a newly formed programme team that will allow someone to make a significant impact and contribute to Southwark Council’s Social Value initiative on a two year fixed term basis.
