This hands-on operational role requires strategic thinking, direct engagement with various programs, and regular interaction with leadership to drive SHE initiatives.What you'll be doing:Developing and implementing robust SHE strategies, policies, and governance frameworks, aiming for systemic improvements and risk managementLeading the Risk Reduction Program, focusing on minimizing risks and enhancing safety measures across the organisationFostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Functional leads, to integrate SHE considerations effectively into business processes at all levelsDriving a safety-focused culture among operational leaders through motivational initiatives and change managementInnovating and leading in the creation of technical safety solutions and collaborate on projects to improve safety behaviours, engagement, and performance in accident and serious injury preventionEnsuring SHE compliance, providing independent assurance on adherence to management systems and effectiveness of practicesSupporting the Head of SHE with management information systems and the coordination of management review processes to ensure optimal function across the businessContributing to specific projects for the Maritime and Land Sector SHE Council, collaborating with teams across Naval Ships, Submarines, and Munitions businessesYour skills and experiences:EssentialExceptional organisational and program management abilitiesProven experience in managing and leading teams effectivelyExcellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging a diverse audienceNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Safety qualification, or currently working towards oneProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong capabilities in data analysis and reportingAbility to analyse, interpret, and present relevant data and information in a clear and precise mannerAbility to prioritise workload in a dynamic environmentThis position requires regular on-site visits to physically challenging manufacturing and engineering environments, demanding a hands-on approach and resilience in navigating complex settingsDesirable:In-depth knowledge of ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental ManagementPractical lead auditor skills, with ISO45001 or ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification highly preferredExperience in managing SHE training, with a formal qualification considered a plusSkilled in accident/incident investigation, with formal qualification desirablePrior experience working in Shipyard, Engineering, or Manufacturing environmentsBenefits:You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
