This mahi will improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it…Te whiwhinga mahi| The OpportunityWe are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Te Whatu Ora colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.We have an important role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi. The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Māori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Māori.As a Senior Service Development Manager, you will be a subject matter expert in your life course team, able to hold trusting relationships with Māori, senior sector leaders and health providers, clinicians, and the wider community to address key strategic and operational issues, negotiate key agreements and stewarding change including driving service improvements. Regionally based roles will work closely with the Senior Locality Managers who will hold generalist relationships with providers across their communities, as well as the other regional integration teams and the national team to design and implement service improvements across your region.This role is based in the Te Waipounamu Region made up of Nelson Marlborough, Canterbury, South Canterbury, West Coast and Southern. You will need to be based in the region. Your location can be discussed at interview stage.Significant commissioning experience in varied environmentsDemonstrated experience leading the development and delivery of service and investment strategies and initiatives, including the full commissioning of services within the specific life course portfolio.Demonstrated experience in health service funding with procurement and provider management oversight at a senior level.Demonstrated experience in leading service design.Demonstrated experience in the development of high quality and timely investment planning strategies and initiatives.Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups and at a senior level.Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and anticipate the impact of decisions on long-term outcomes, including financial outcomes, and to develop/recommend responses in consultation with key stakeholders.The ability to communicate complex information and ideas in both oral and written communication to a range of audiences including senior management, Board and Ministers.Nau mai, uru mai | Come and join usWhen you join us, you become part of transforming the health system.
