The Architecture Services Team comprises members from many different technical and non-technical backgrounds; from network and security to datacentre, end-user compute and service architecture. The team provides customers and the wider Softcat team sight of the broader picture – helping to pull all pieces of the jigsaw together and solving the puzzle of how business requirements are interpreted into technical solutions involving multiple technical verticals.

As a Vendor Senior Architect focused on Cisco Security, you'll be part of the Architecture Services Team. In this role you'll be the first port of call for creating Cisco Security solutions that solve customer problems.


 


You'll be developing the skills and abilities of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the full Cisco Security portfolio, including, but not limited to, SD-WAN, Umbrella, Duo, FirePower, FMC, ISE, CDO and Secure Network Analytics/Stealthwatch. You will take responsibility as the technical lead on customer projects and will be producing high quality design documentation when required within a given project or customer engagement.


 


Working with your Team Leader and Mentor you will work down a path to become a Subject Matter Expert in Cisco Security Solutions and other related technical disciplines such as Cyber Security across both Cisco and Meraki where relevant. You will be working closely with Softcat's Cisco's Alliances Team and Softcat's Sales community, ensuring existing customers are getting the most out of their investments into Cisco Security solutions, and enabling the Sales community to grow the customer base.


 


As Senior Security Architect - Cisco, you'll be responsible for: 



  • Helping to understand, scope and document customers' business and technical requirements.

  • Producing BoMs and other foundational documentation.

  • Working with other Services Architecture members, professional services consultants, and architects to develop cross-discipline and multi-vendor solutions for customers.

  • Working with the Softcat Sales Specialists and the Softcat Account Management team to provide technical information and expertise to assist customers in their business needs.

  • Continually develop your skills and abilities to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cisco Security Solutions.

  • Running Security Lifecycle reviews, PoCs and other presales activities with customers.

  • Communicating authoritatively at all levels across an organisation to both technical and non-technical audiences. Effective communication of complex technical information.

  • Presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences when engaging with colleagues, users/customers, suppliers, and partners.


 


We'd love you to have



  • A passion for technology and making technology work for businesses along with a desire to share your knowledge and experience with those around you.

  • Relevant degree or industry recognised qualifications or certifications consummate to the role (e.g. Cisco Certifications such as Fire Jumper, CCNA, CCNP etc. although desirable this is not a necessity).

  • Excellent communications skills, particularly with customers.

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality of output.

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve positive results.

  • An element of business awareness and commercial acumen.
