What are we looking for
We have opportunities for two Senior Sales Bid Managers to join the team. These roles will be based in the Sheffield office.
This role will lead high value bids and tenders for sales of ITM equipment including leading contract negotiations. This will include both ITM's containerised system for smaller projects and ITM's electrolyser solutions for large scale green hydrogen projects which will be developed and executed alongside an EPC company. It is expected that some travel (UK and abroad) will be required as part of the role. The candidates will be working closely with other sales and business development staff, as well as with other departments within ITM (legal, engineering, projects).
Responsibilities
Lead the bid process for complex and high value technical sales through to completion of the negotiation phase to contract signature.
Structure and organise the task-oriented bid team.
Run the kick-off meetings to ensure the bid strategy is understood by all stakeholders, including Senior Management.
Management of the bid schedule, budget and progress including regular reporting to management.
Coordinating the development of cost estimation and analysis and contributing to the development of pricing strategy and options.
Analysis and development of commercial models and business cases for deployment of ITM systems.
Responsibility for ensuring that all customer-facing proposal documentation is compiled on time and to right quality. Depending upon the requirements of the bid, responsibilities may include writing selected proposal documents and the review, checking and approval of documents written by other members of the team to ensure that they consistently reflect the agreed bid strategy and approach.
Building and maintaining relationships with customers, ensuring ITM is close to the customer and has a strong understanding of customer process and drivers.
Working with partner organisations, including EPC companies, to develop inter-company bidding and contracting processes.
Presentations (technical and commercial) to customers.
Leading customer negotiations for bids and assisting other team members with contract negotiations.
Technical and commercial meetings and discussions with customers.
Developing and updating internal processes and document templates for firm bids and sales contracts.
Checking and reviewing bids for other team members prior to submission to the customer.
Responsible for transferring all bid materials and bid phase knowledge to the project execution team, bringing the execution team up to speed on the project and ensuring adequate support from the bid team for the project execution team during the execution phase initiation.
Managing and maintaining Salesforce, including uploading and logging all quotes and proposals sent out to customers, updating any changes and logging all communication and meetings, phone calls etc.
About You
Knowledge and Experience
Engineering or science degree desirable
Additional language skills desirable
Experience working in a high-value engineering, construction or manufacturing sales team
Computer literate with good use of computer software programmes, including Microsoft office and Salesforce, or an online platform similar
Possess a good understanding of EPC delivery and contracting models, including Pre-FEED, FEED and execution contract stages
A good understanding of energy and hydrogen markets and relevant end user industries
Experience of leading firm bids, commercial negotiations and commercial risk assessment
Experience with complex EPC contract negotiations would be an advantage
Experience of developing processes and document templates for firm bid and contract phases
Experience of training others to follow new processes
Skills and Abilities
Able to deliver bids to quality, time and cost factors in a demanding environment
Can work independently or as part of a team
Proven ability to form productive working relationships with other ITM functions
Good accuracy and attention to detail
The ability to plan your own workload
Exceptional time management with the ability to work to deadlines
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations)
Ability to remain calm and professional
