Within the Safety Case discipline you will be supporting clients as part of a team in projects of new build, decommissioning or ongoing operational facilities in providing safety cases and associated assessments. To ensure work is delivered to a high standard, timely and to the programme agreed.RequirementsRole and ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Safety Case Consultant, you will be involved in a variety of specialist tasks. This could include:Developing and presenting robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent mannerDelivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in regard to technical excellence and the quality of deliverablesDelivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in terms of timescales and cost, in a way that supports the long-term growth of the business and its reputationManaging this work (in the form of small to medium sized projects) either as a project or technical leadDelivering the work within budget and to the agreed programme whilst keeping track of the project (all aspects)Liaising with all concerned of both technical and commercial progressDeveloping skills in growing projectsIdentifying opportunities with clients and supporting, mentoring, coaching and helping others to develop within the businessPreferred Role RequirementsThe Safety Case team encourage diversity of thought and welcome applications of candidates with transferable skills that can be applied to nuclear decommissioning projects, therefore, there are no minimum role requirements and candidates will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.The preferred role requirements are as follows:A Degree or equivalent in engineering, science or related field of studyHold a minimum of ‘SC' UK Security Clearance, or willingness to obtain a security clearanceMinimum of 10 years professional engineering/technical specialist experienceDemonstrate knowledge of and experience in the management and production of complex safety cases, for a number of plant types at different lifecycle stages, as part of a team, demonstrating the capability to work unsupervised within a teamA good working knowledge of the QMS, in particular to the ‘Opportunity to Order' and ‘Order to Project Completion' requirementsGood understanding of the NEC 3 contract systemsBenefits25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
