Senior Rotational Clinical Pharmacist

The pharmacy department is looking for an experienced Pharmacist to support excellent patient care as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist.

In this role,you will be responsible for delivering pharmacy services across the hospital and undertake 9-month rotations in diverse clinical areas, including:


  • Acute admissions
  • Aseptics
  • Cardiology and stroke
  • Complex care/frailty
  • Diabetes care
  • Gastroenterology and GI surgery
  • General surgery
  • Maternity care
  • Medicines use and safety
  • Paediatrics
  • Respiratory medicine

Innovation and learning are highly encouraged within the department – the team were one of the first to implement electronic prescribing in this setting, back in 2015. As a Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll be able to take advantage of significant development opportunities, including to earn your clinical diploma and Independent Prescribing accreditationif you have not already done so.

This is a full-time role (37.5h) with regular weekends, late-nights, and on-call duties required (rota system). Part-time may also be accommodated at a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.

Person specification:


  • (Essential) Accredited MPharm degree or OSPAP qualification
  • (Essential) Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacist
  • (Essential) Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • (Desirable) Clinical Pharmacy postgraduate certificate, or achievement of the half-way point in diploma
