We are looking for an experienced RF electronic design engineer to take a leading role in the development of our UWB locating system for sports applications. With experience in the consumer/embedded electronics industry, the candidate would have been through the complete development cycle of hardware products, and will ideally have a record of successfully leading the RF portions of some of these efforts all the way to production and market launch.
This is an opportunity to become a part of a talented multi-disciplinary engineering team, encompassing Electronics, SW development all the way from embedded to web frontend, Mechanical and Data Science engineers, and a chance to step into a highly motivating start-up environment where one can make a direct impact to our world class customer by solving complex technical problems. This role is the perfect opportunity for someone willing to become a major technical stakeholder in the architecture, design and validation of our ambitious systems, while keeping a very hands-on involvement in the RF design.
Responsibilities:
Take a leading role in the RF design and architecture of our current and next generation products.
Hands-on implementation & validation of the RF front end and antenna integrations of our products ; including test in the lab as well as in the field to compare and adjust system performance and design.in its environment.
Communicate clearly and efficiently with other members of the hardware team.
Technical Skills:
Experience implementing and configuring software controlled digital-input RF transceivers, such as WiFi and Bluetooth. Ideally experienced with UWB transceivers.
RF front-end design and measurements to 10 GHz
Antenna selection/integration/design for embedded products
Proven Digital and Analog Electronics design experience, preferably with a focus on battery powered applications.
Experience with certification process: CE, UKCA, FCC
Comfortable with eCAD tools for Schematics and Layout (Altium preferably)
(nice to have) Understanding of Embedded SW constraints
(nice to have) Experience in a smaller company or start-up environment

Location:
The job would be located at least 4 days a week in our office at the StoneX Stadium in Barnet, with travel to external test houses required on occasion.
