The Role



Our client is seeking a Senior Revit Technician to join their team in Hemel Hempstead. You will be assisting in leading the Building Information Modelling (BIM) team and supporting our client's aspirational growth plans. You will proactively anticipate design challenges and offer practical solutions through the utilisation of digital technology.



You will contribute to providing coordinated engineering design solutions for clients. This role involves supporting project teams by ensuring the use of appropriate tools and technology to foresee design challenges and facilitate solutions, while also maintaining a focus on continuous professional development.



If you are an experienced BIM Technician seeking to advance your career, the role will allow you to take a lead position in the development of BIM teams while actively participating in project delivery.





Key Responsibilities:




  • Produce accurate technical engineering drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Liaise with Engineers, Architects, Design team, and Contractors for project delivery on time, budget, and to required standards.

  • Work independently with self-motivation and productivity.

  • Attend technical meetings, ensuring drawings and design information meet appropriate standards.

  • Support senior staff and assist in fee proposal preparation.

  • Manage junior staff workload, provide coaching, and address training needs.

  • Seek professional membership (e.g., EngTech/TIStructE).

  • Contribute to marketing strategy through social media to promote services and expertise.

  • Assist in improving internal systems, standards, software, and working practices.

  • Attend site visits when required.

  • Proactively address key issues and explore innovative practices.

  • Work closely with the team and report to the project director.

  • Enhance and promote Glanville Consultants' image through actions.





The Requirements



The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Preferred skills and qualifications for candidates include:




  • Have a proven track record showcasing a deep understanding of broader engineering principles related to designs, drawings, and 3D models, coupled with awareness of structural engineering and building detailing.

  • Proficiency in computer-aided drawing (CAD) and AutoCAD usage, along with a thorough grasp of Building Information Modelling (BIM) application and expertise in utilizing Revit for building and structural designs, are essential.

  • Experience in formulating and contributing to the development of project CAD & BIM procedures, as well as ensuring quality control, is a notable aspect.

  • Familiarity with UK Industry BIM standards, protocols, and procedures is advantageous.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of commercial considerations for cost-effective design solutions and exhibit awareness of financial aspects such as agreed fees and budget status, managing project costs accordingly.

  • As a self-motivated team player, exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.

  • A HNC/HND qualification in civil/structural engineering or equivalent.

  • Furthermore, display effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, by speaking clearly, confidently, and professionally on the telephone, and producing clear and concise e-mails, letters, and reports.
