If you are ready to take the next step in your career with a progressive and energetic team, then we are ready to hear from you.THE OPPORTUNITY – SENIOR RESERVOIR ENGINEER (CARBON STORAGE)This role will be responsible for providing Reservoir Engineering expertise and subsurface technical support for Spirit’s MNZ carbon storage project in the East Irish Sea.AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…Once in role, you will:Support the development of carbon storage subsurface workflows and undertake reservoir simulation studies aligned with licence work commitmentsGenerate CO2 injection forecasts and undertake storage resource reportingTake a lead role in technical assurance and quality control of subsurface deliverablesTake a lead role as the interface with the Spirit Energy project teams and coordinate subsurface input to production technology, wells and engineering studiesProject management of outsourced subsurface studiesTake a key role in planning and operational support for injection well drilling and injectivity assessmentsReservoir engineering support for new business opportunity evaluationsPrepare and present subsurface material internally and to regulators and joint venture partnersWork closely within an integrated Subsurface team, and communicate effectively with Asset, Projects, Finance, Wells and other appropriate business areasShare knowledge within the organization and bring new ideas through wider industry network, and coach / mentor within the subsurface teamFollow and support safety and environmental policies, guidelines, procedures, and an incident free workplaceABOUT YOUYou’ll need to……Educated to degree level, ideally with an MSc in a relevant disciplineBroad subsurface knowledge of the UKCS, previous experience of the East Irish Sea is beneficial but not essentialPrevious experience in the use of advanced simulation software including compositional and thermal effectsStrong understanding of fluid dynamic behavior and reservoir drive mechanismsExperience in carbon storage would be beneficial, particularly in evaluating depleted gas reservoirs as storage sitesUser of dynamic modelling packages, preferably Petrel-RE, Eclipse, Intersect, Tnav and / or GEMExperienced in drilling and well operationsGood awareness of legislation, licensing, and fiscal issues relevant to the carbon storage industryGood commercial awareness with an understanding of project financing and cost controlProven ability to design and coordinate subsurface work programsProvide track record of undertaking complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledgeTrack record of subsurface creativity, identifying growth opportunities and value adding activitiesExperience of working in an E&P operator and as part of joint venture groupsExperience of working within a challenging and diverse asset management environmentIn addition to technical knowledge and credibility, we are searching for a someone who lives our values of Agility, Collaboration, Courage, Care and Delivery, enables and supports change and brings fresh and dynamic thinking.TEAM SPIRITAt Spirit Energy we don’t just talk about diversity and inclusion – we take action to champion it at every level of our business.
