Locations: Cambridge, UKSalary & Benefits CompetitiveIntroduction to role:Are you ready to take a crucial inter-disciplinary approach to deliver life-changing medicines? We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist to help support our Respiratory and Immunology discovery pipeline. The role will involve developing and implementing our next-generation modalities in their application to pre-clinical programs.Accountabilities:As a Senior Research Scientist, you will bring your expertise in multivalent molecular design to the table. Your experience in the application of protein, molecular biology and/or biophysical skill sets will be crucial in creating and characterising the next generation of biologics, with a focus on multi-specific molecules and cellular engagers. You will execute experiments efficiently, analyse, interpret, and present data and ideas to a wider audience.Essential Skills/Experience:Ph.D level scientist, or Batchelor’s degree with significant experience in an industry settingUnderstanding of antibody structure-function relationshipsExperience in protein design, production and characterisation of antibodies, or antibody-like scaffolds using common expression systems (e.g. mammalian) and purification methods (e.g. Akta systems), and the ability to profile constructs (e.g. SPR; biochemical assays)Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology methods and technologies e.g., PCR, RT-PCR, cloning (ligation-dependent and independent methods), site-directed mutagenesis, Sanger sequencing/analysisAbility to work independently, to optimize protocols, troubleshoot, interpret experimental results/data and maintain accurate, high quality and up-to-date experimental recordsStrong communication skills in a team environment and an ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologiesDesirable Skills/Experience:Background in drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical industry or academiaStrong publication record, as evidenced by patents and/or publicationsExperience in silico design and optimisation of proteinsExperience in automationWhen we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
