Are you an experienced research administrator looking for a temporary, hybrid role at a leading London university? Do you have experience with pre- and post-award management within the academic sector? Signature Recruitment is thrilled to recruit for a Senior Research Administrator to join our client. This full-time, temporary position has an immediate start and will run for 2 months. The role offers a blend of on-campus and remote work, with 3 days a week on campus. As a Senior Research Administrator, you will provide comprehensive administrative and management support to Academic and Research staff within the university’s Faculty of Natural Sciences. Your responsibilities will include costing proposals, managing research grant budgets, financial reporting and providing sound financial management advice to budget holders. Additionally, you’ll support with pre- and post-awards management and assist with data management using Worktribe. Your contributions will directly influence the department’s success in meeting course proposal deadlines, budgeting, and adhering to funding terms and conditions. Senior Research Administrator Key Responsibilities:
Offer support in pre- and post-awards management, including proposal discussions, cost calculations, and data entry. Communicate potential financial and operational strategy impacts to the Departmental Operations Manager, providing necessary data and insights. Liaise with academic staff on proposal submissions, offering guidance on costings and budgetary concerns. Oversee research grant and contract expenditures, advising Principal Investigators to ensure compliance with sponsor terms. Assist academics with the appointment processes for research staff, ensuring a streamlined and efficient approach.
Senior Research Administrator Key Skills:
Demonstrated experience in pre-awards within higher education (UK), with a proficiency in the Worktribe system. Knowledge of key funders such as UKRI and the European Union, with the ability to perform manual calculations for budgeting purposes. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, crucial for the management of financial and operational tasks. Strong communication skills for interaction with academics and staff.
