Job Description
Role: Senior Regulatory Lawyer - Financial Services - EMI Institution
Salary : We'll match your seniority level
Key responsibilities
as an advisor for regulatory matters impacting the Company business.
responsible for maintaining ongoing compliance with applicable, laws, regulations and guidance, including the Payment Services Directive, Electronic Money Directive, outsourcing guidelines and FCA Principles of Business
the product and technical teams to ensure the Company Platform is compliant with applicable regulations and industry guidance
advice and legal support to ensure Company has strong governance and operational resilience practices in place
regulatory risks in the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including conducting risk assessments, implementing controls to mitigate identified risks and ongoing monitoring
scanning to monitor changes to laws and regulations that may impact the Company business
with industry bodies as required
regulatory notifications and filings
legal education for the business through bespoke training and raising awareness
the wider legal team to provide efficient and effective legal support to the business
hoc legal and regulatory tasks
About You:
Qualified lawyer, ideally in a common law jurisdiction
experience of providing legal support in a regulated financial services environment.
and experience in dealing with the requirements of an FCA regulated EMI.
qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience (gained either within private practice or in-house)
strong working knowledge of the Payment Services Regulation, FinTech regulation, Change of control rules
knowledge of UK and EEA payment services and e-money regulations
Banking products and services; AIS and PIS
asset regulation; regulatory developments in digital assets
of FSMA supervisory processes and relevant FCA Handbook rules
advice supporting company growth and delivery of strategic projects
assessments to support material contracts and corporate acquisitions
of EEA passporting rules under PSD, EMD, and CRD5
operational resilience, business continuity, wind-down planning
of regulatory reporting
to explain complicated legal concepts in a way that is understandable to business stakeholders in both written and oral communications.
