Senior RadiographerGreat Ormond Street is a world-renowned tertiary referral specialist children's hospital, in the heart of Central London. We see children of all ages with a myriad of conditions, which provide for a truly interesting and varied workload in all modalities.We are seeking to recruit Radiographers for our diagnostic service. This rotational position, at the core of the Service, provides a wealth of opportunity to those looking to be part of a high quality and respected department.This role would suit those with a postgraduate Radiography experience, looking to develop their specialist paediatric Radiography skills and utilise their clinical skills in a supportive and innovative department, where maintaining an excellent diagnostic service to patients and their families is key.You will be working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team in providing this service. Good communication skills and excellent team working abilities are essential for this post.Applications are invited from experienced radiographers wishing to expand their horizons and develop in an exciting and challenging role within our Radiology department.The CCC will have an entire floor dedicated to imaging and will include state of the art technology with a CT, MRI and PET-CT scanner.Previous applicants have already been assessed for the role and do not need to apply.Unfortunately we are unable to provide relocation assistance for this role.Main duties of the jobTo carry out all aspects of Paediatric Radiographic examinations as directed by the Superintendent Radiographer or senior members of staff on a rotational basis.To carry out all radiographic examinations as per departmental protocol set out within the Ionisation Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations 2017 guidelines and Ionising Radiation Regulations 1To assist with the supervision of student radiographers on study placement with the Trust.To assist with the induction and training of new staff in the departmentTo be familiar with departmental administration systems.To carry out clerical duties related to radiographic work ensuring accurate data entry onto EPIC.To promote good working relationships and teamwork with the multi-disciplinary team within Radiology.To promote good working relationship with the clinical teams and ward staff to ensure patients are investigated appropriately and on time.To work in accordance with IRR (17) and IR(ME)R 2017 regulations.To take responsibility for the radiation protection of staff, patients and carers.Great Ormond Street Hospital Trust is a dynamic organisation, therefore changes in the core duties and responsibilities of the role may be required from time to time.
