Position: Senior R & D Chemist

Location: Cheshire

Salary: Up to £45,000

The Company: Adhesives Manufacturer

The Role:

* Day to day will mostly be product development, where you focus on developing new and innovative water based, solvent based and hot melt adhesives which give market-leading advantages to the sales team.

* Involved directly with suppliers and customers.

* Learn about new and novel raw materials, reporting this back to the board in addition to getting new prices on raw materials to drive cost savings.

* Partnering with sales to support customers’ product/ technical requirements to aid formulating and product development.

* Manufacturing support to customer factories as required.

* Provide leadership in the laboratory, providing man management and driving best practice.

Requirements:

* At Least a HND or above in a science – either Physics or Chemistry

* At least 3 years of experience in new product development from scope to commercialisation

* At least 3 years of experience in formulating in a transferable technology such as inks, coatings etc

* Driving licence to travel around UK and occasionally Europe

* Experienced in raw material technologies

* Experience in scaling up lab batches to production batches

* Computer literate on word, excel etc to reasonable level
