The Company

An award-winning Construction Contractor that has over 20 years' of industry experience are currently looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. This business has a rich history of completing bespoke new build & refurbishment projects within the residential, leisure & historical building sectors. With a full order book of projects secured and additional works being negotiated in the pipeline, this position will be looking to lead to a Commercial Manager position within the year.

The Role

Senior Quantity Surveyor supporting the commercial team in delivering design & build of bespoke residential & high-end leisure projects across North & West Yorkshire that are up to �10m in value.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you must possess the following;

  • 7+ years' experience working as an Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and construction contracts such as JCT
  • Preferred background in high end residential / bespoke construction projects
  • Knowledge of build & refurbishment projects with values ranging between �1m - �10m
  • Good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations
  • Well organised, self-starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works
  • Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties

Duties

  • Submission of interim payment applications
  • Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports / Project cost control
  • Assisting with all commercial aspects of allocated projects
  • Preparation and submission of interim valuations
  • Manage and value variations
  • Attend meetings for the agreement of final accounts
  • Post contract liaison with clients
  • Sub-contract negotiation and letting
  • Joint responsibility of managing contract costs including payments to sub-contractors
  • Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports
  • Assist with the management of contractual documentation and letters / Understanding of sub-contracts
  • Placing sub-contract orders
