Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing privately owned residential developer based in Birmingham, committed to delivering high-quality residential projects. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team and manage two large high rise residential new build schemes within Birmingham city centre. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial and contractual management of these projects, from inception through to completion, aligning with our standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports. Monitor and control project costs to ensure projects are completed within budget.
Tendering and Procurement: Manage the tendering process, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure procurement is in line with project time lines and budgets.
Contract Management: Administer and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Handle any contractual disputes or issues that arise.
Valuations and Payments: Prepare and agree on interim valuations and final accounts. Ensure timely payment of subcontractors and suppliers.
Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, including financial, contractual, and supply chain risks. Develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
Cost Reporting: Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to the project management team and senior management. Ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Variation Management: Assess and manage variations to the contract, ensuring accurate cost tracking and agreement with relevant stakeholders.
Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Address and resolve any issues that arise promptly.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets the required quality standards and adheres to regulatory requirements and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or working towards it.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the residential sector.
Proven track record of managing high rise residential projects.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and procurement processes.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, MS Office).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
