The Company

Our client is a prestigious global developer with an exceptional track record of delivering luxury and award winning flagship destinations. At present they hold a �50bn project portfolio with a further �3bn secured for the next 10 years. They have delivered an array of high profile projects within the retail, commercial and residential sectors across the UK.

The Project

A major new build, private residential scheme based in East London. The overall build value exceeds �600m and will deliver 1200 new homes across various high rise accommodation blocks which will include amenities such as; gyms, a swimming pool, workspace and high-quality public areas. As an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will ensure the successful delivery of designated commercial packages and collaborate closely with other departments across the wider business. You will serve as an integral member of the commercial team, playing a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy, contractual management and commercial success of the project.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following skills as a minimum;

  • Excellent sales and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
  • Strong communication and attention to details
  • Understanding of construction laws and regulations
  • The ability to accurately estimate the costs associated with the project
  • A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

  • Successfully delivered packages on new build / refurbishment developments in excess of �20m+
  • History of solely delivering commercial packages on new build / refurbishment projects in the residential sector
  • Extensive background, 5 years minimum with a proven track record of success on major projects with a proven major main contractor or subcontractor

  • Reporting to: Commercial Director / Senior Commercial Manager

Duties

  • Procurement
  • Able to delegate successfully
  • Analysis of tender allowances
  • Closely monitoring site activities
  • Reporting to Commercial Director
  • Preparing material reconciliations
  • Cash management and maximization
  • Monitoring and overseeing measures
  • Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets
  • Internal reporting and monitoring of trade contractors
  • Offer useful feedback to project teams and individuals
  • Confidence in presentation and the skill to lead high level meetings
  • Must be able to remain composed and focused in complicated situations
  • Working closely with subcontractors to ensure accurate costs and payments
  • Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing stakeholders
  • Increase and grow optimistic relationships with clients and client professional teams
  • Participate in the recording of delays & preparation of any request for extensions of time
  • Preparation and administration of procurement advice, tenders, tender reviews and advice
  • Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required
  • Generate/maintain relevant records, accurate filing and support for all commercial functions
  • Must be organised and prioritise own work to deliver on time through organization of time efficiently
  • Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations
  • Provide tender analysis to relevant people for approval of proposed sub-contractor prior to placing of orders
