Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a leading affordable housing contractor with a secured pipeline of signed housing and apartments schemes, totalling circa 600/700 units under construction for this year.
Due to growth and two new large projects coming on line totalling 300 affordable housing units, they are in need of an additional Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a crucial role in managing all aspects of tendering and the contracting processes.
**Responsibilities:**
* Prepare tender submissions and ensure compliance with client requirements
* Review and analyse tender documents, subcontracts and purchase orders
* Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with subcontractors and suppliers
* Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle
* Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and valuations
* Manage variations and claims
* Provide technical advice on contract matters
* Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and engineers
* Ensure compliance with industry best practices and legal regulations
**Requirements:**
* Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent qualification
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior quantity surveying role
* Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
* Proven ability to manage complex construction projects
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Proficient in using industry-specific software packages
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
