at 16:22 BST .The VacancySenior Quantity SurveyorAsset Management / Maintenance contractRail / Civil EngineeringLocation - BarnsleyAn exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a large number of day to day project remits in a rail minor works, asset management / maintenance frameworkBusiness UnitA busy and fast paced rail maintenance and asset management project environment. The business unit consists of ‘small’ maintenance projects both reactive and planned around the rail network. They are responsible for the maintenance and repair of rail assets in a long term framework / contract agreement with works typically ranging in type, scale and value.Projects can typically include repair and maintenance to bridges, tunnels, structures, stations, embankments, flood and weather damage, signage, de-vegetation, fencing, handrails etc.The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for heading up the Commercial Management of Design, Culverts & Building / Civils Asset Management projects within the Asset Management framework. It requires the delivery of remits ranging from circa £5k up to £2m. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing and developing a small team of commercial staff allocated to the business stream, as well as driving the commercial delivery of the projects and reporting on the same to senior management. Day to day duties and responsibilities also including but not limited to:Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,Resolving pricing issues with clientsLiaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,Subcontractor managementChange management and early warningsContract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)CVR’sFinal accounting.Management/supervision and mentorship of a small commercial teamRequirementsTo excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.
