As part of our continued exciting expansion in Scotland region we are looking for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team, reporting to the Managing Director
What You Will Have
With a working knowledge of JCT or alternative forms of contract you have provide cost management and project administration abilities. Ideally, you will have residential and commercial project experience as a main contractorand relevant industry qualifications would be beneficial.
You are a good communicator and team player who is self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative. Ideally you will have experience in forms of contract, and expertise in MS Word and Excel is essential.
What you Will Do
The role involves general project coordination and administration, preparation and negotiation of initial site budgets and subcontract tender documents, Sub contractor payments, issuing and dealing with EOT, Notiifcation of delays, Monthly valuations , Site measures, You will also undertake site visits and inspections and coordinate with contractors on site.
You will be responsible for the management of junior members of the team, along with subcontract payments; variation claims and final account settlement, and liaison with other departments and external consultants in respect of cost issues.
The role also involves chairing sub-contract pre-order meetings and attending regular project review meetings; preparing monthly cost reports to ensure cost control throughout the development programme and provision of continuous financial advice throughout to the Site Management team.
Main duties and responsibilities
· Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external parties
· Prepare and send enquiries to sub-contractors inviting them to tender
· Seek to minimize the cost of a project and enhance value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality
· Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts
· Contract and sub-contract management and administration as required
· Certification of payment applications from subcontractors
· Compilation of costs for compensation events and the management of change
· Management of Change Control including Early Warnings and Compensation Events
· Assist to avoid disputes with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
· Prepare and process formal documentation for sub-contractor payments
· Preparing valuations for payment applications to the client
· Assisting in the compilation of commercial / contractual responses to the client and subcontractors
· Monitor and report on expenditure on contracts compared to budgets and forecasts
· Give feedback to the relevant parties with regards to contract pricing and profit and loss
· Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings with clients and sub-contractors as required
