Job DescriptionGriffiths and Farrans, sister companies have been in operation for 80 years in England and over 50 years in the Southwest delivering pioneering infrastructure projects, whilst connecting communities and providing our employees with careers that matterGriffiths provides you with the opportunity to work on an extremely challenging projectentailing two major roundabouts over 1 km new dual carriageway, a new road bridge over the River Severn in addition to making a range of improvements for pedestrians and cyclists.Joining us as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will report to the Managing Quantity surveyor to support and fulfil the commercial needs for a large infrastructure projectYou will be responsible forProviding construction and contractual knowledge to commercial and operational staffUndertake negotiations with all partiesEnsure a commercial review of a programme is undertaken prior to the timely submissionProvide advice to commercial staff in assessing delay and disruptionUndertake and supervise the valuation of subcontract management to include timely payment against subcontract and agreement of final accountsMaintain regular contact with client counterpart to manage customer expectationsEnsure all contracts and sub-contracts provide the minimum requirement for insuranceDirectly mentor any subordinate commercial staff if allocatedAbility to influence the procurement strategySeek support if required and provide advice to other staff to minimise disputes with clients and subcontractorsRequired Skills and Experience Process driven with strong commercial awarenessStrong negotiation, numeracy and analytical skillsBSc or MSc Degree in Quantity SurveyingNEC3/4 experienceExcellent communication and presentation skillsMembership of a relevant professional body
