Our client, Are a social housing repairs and maintenance contractor, that provide a full range of property services. From 24/7 repairs and external redecoration to planned refurbishment works, recladding, and mechanical and electrical programmes.

They’re currently in the market for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Planned works, Retrofit, FRA works. Must be, contractually aware, history of estimating and pricing and experience working alone.

The works will be on behalf of Tower Hamlets, Hackney, and Westminster council.


  • Salary £75,000 - £78,000

Office is based in Newham and hybrid working is offered 2/3 days per week.

The salary is currently the maximum our client will offer for the role. I can say, from personal experience, reviews of salaries are conducted annually, and companywide increases have been made reflective of economic conditions, particularly in the last 1-2 years where cost of living has impacted all. All employees will have an annual appraisal with their line manager to discuss and review performance and agree targets going forwards. Our client also makes a generous discretionary bonus scheme around November each year subject to business performance. While not guaranteed and wholly discretional.

Holiday will be 25 days excluding statutory bank holidays. The business does not close down between Xmas and NY given its obligations with some responsive contracts and there is no mandate to use annual leave entitlement however but some planned departments do shut down given reduced site activity and level of staff who wish to use their annual leave during this period.

Internal and external meetings may be scheduled up to 5pm from time to time. they operate a hybrid working policy at discretion of line managers. They utilise MS Teams for most meetings so attendees can join in the office and virtually from other locations (site, home, etc). Attendees are expected to attend if not otherwise committed. They do have informal arrangements where some wish to start early and finish early on the provision that business needs are still met.

Pension: They currently offer peoples pension. Employer contributions are 3% and employee contributions 5% in line with auto-enrolment regulation. You can opt to increase contributions if you wish.
