Based onsite with a key client, The Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage the procurement and contract administration function on this project which involves supply chain development, procurement strategy, tendering and evaluation, negotiation and contract management. The role also includes an input to main contract T&C reviews.

You will have extensive experience in the procurement and contract management/administration of goods and services in the construction industry and will be a key member of the project delivery team for a range of challenging projects of significant scale and complexity.

Experience in regulated process sectors would be an advantage.

You will be familiar with standard Forms of Contract (NEC4) used in the UK and Europe and may be required to provide advice and guidance to others in the way in which the Contracts are to be administered.

Your home office will be Manchester, however you will be based onsite in County Durham (3-4 days per week hybrid working), so will ideally reside in the general surrounding areas.


Key Objectives

  • To administer the process of procuring equipment, contracts, subcontracts and services for the Companies projects. Particular experience in both M&E and Process Engineering Construction Packages
  • To work closely with project teams and customers delivering a service to fully meet their requirements and develop repeat work through excellent performance and quality.
  • To assist the review of main contracts and provide advice to project teams.
  • To administer contracts both on behalf of the Company and our Clients including payments, variations, expediting and forecasting
  • To provide Cost and Commercial reporting

Requirements

  • NEC4 contracts experience - required
  • Extensive experience as a procurement / contracts manager in the construction or related industries - required
  • Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors with relevant experience - preferable
  • EPCM experience - preferable
  • You are willing and able to travel to the client site 3-4 days per week.
