Location – Macclesfield
Type – Permanent – Full-time
Salary – up to £70K DOE + £420/month car allowance
Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Mechanical & Electrical quantity surveying experience in a building services background.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures, to minimise costs and enhance value for money, while ensuring the required standards and quality are maintained.
They will have an awareness of the commercial market with the ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in engineering construction industry. 
Aims & Objectives:


  • To support the operational team in the commercial processes to ensure achievement of turnover and profit targets, profitable contracts, and sound cash flow performance.
  • Managing risk to improve cost predictability.
  • To ensure all work at every stage of a project is completed on time, within budget and to the correct standard.
  • To maximise project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting.
  • To drive best value from suppliers and subcontractors
  • To drive Commercial Process within the team


Key Responsibilities:


  • To provide effective commercial and contractual support to operations in accordance with procedures
  • To liaise with clients’ surveyors on financial matters to provide an accurate forecast of final accounts.
  • To maintain sub-contractor accounts, working with and the project team to keep up to date financial information.
  • To provide accurate internal reports to the Commercial Manager within the required time frames, including CVRs, cost plans, cash flow and revenue forecasts
  • To ensure timely submission and agreement of applications, variation details, claims, Final Accounts, and other documentation
  • Manage the cash-flow in line with the agreed terms.
  • To review the sales ledger, ensure accurate posting of the transactions.
  • To preform risk and value management and cost control
  • To carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales
  • To assist the operational teams with a range of other duties as may be required from time to time.


Skills & Experience:
Essential


  • Educated to HND or Degree level in quantity or building surveying or a construction-related subject.
  • Demonstrable commercial experience.
  • Experience in administering industry standard forms of contract particularly the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Mechanical & Electrical quantity surveying experience in a building services background.
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales.
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • IT Literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office
  • System experience – CPA, Coins or similar
  • Ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients, and subcontractors in
  • engineering construction industry. 
  • Sound understanding of the implications of Health and Safety regulations.

 Desirable
Experience in projects relating to the design and construction of cleanrooms/controlled environments and other such works within the pharmaceutical and/or other sectors.
