Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + packageLocation:Region: LondonI have a great opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high end residential building contractor on a permanent basis, based in their SW London offices.The company have been around since the 1980’s, initially carrying out small extensions and alterations within the high end residential sector. Over the years they have continuously evolved, and are one of the most reputable builders in the high end residential sector carrying out prestigious projects to the highest quality.They carry out new build developments, refurbishment projects, extensions and alterations throughout South West London and the surrounding areas. Regardless of the project, the aim remains the same; to exceed their clients’ high expectations. Client focus and an uncompromising attitude to quality of finish are the driving forces behind the success of their business.Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be involved in procurement, sub-contracts, contract accounting and valuations, working alongside the Contracts Manager to procure the various items on the project and to bring within budget.Ultimately the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for maximising the gross margin on the company’s building contracts by working with the Contracts Manager, accurately assessing costs during delivery of the contract and in justifying to and claiming from clients all contractual payments due to the company.Key Responsibilities:Meet the contract programme in conjunction with the Critical Path Schedule to prepare and despatch tender packages to sub-contractorsMaintain all necessary recordsCollate sub-contractor tenders, analyse and after which, in consultation with the Contracts Manager, award sub-contractsCheck and approve sub-contractors’ claims for paymentsLiaise with sub-contractors to resolve queriesAssess and cost variations to contract on a regular basis and update the Variations Account with monthly valuationsFormulate contractual claims for submissionSubmit and agree final accountsPrepare monthly valuations and submit for payment under the terms of the contractPrepare and submit monthly cost/value reconciliationsManage the procurement and buying gains reporting ensuring regular updating as the project progresses and concludes at final accountExperienceIdeally Degree qualified or other relative qualificationsMinimum of 7 years’ experience working for a reputable main contractor on similar projectsResidential project experience, ideally new build and refurbishmentAble to work on multiple projects concurrentlyFully conversant with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word & Excel mainly)Working knowledge of programming and/or project management softwareCurrent driving licenseAble to commute to and work in SW LondonIf you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor and you are interested in this role, please apply with an updated CV or call Rob Apps on 07733 529 573
