RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support project Quantity Surveyors in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes, capturing, and sharing knowledge across the project and enhancing our culture of innovation.
The role holder will be based in Cardiff, Wales, and will manage contract administration, risk management and negotiation effectively to deliver the agreed profitability and cash projections, reporting to the Commercial Manager and seeking guidance as and when required.
Main duties will include:
Overseeing Quantity Surveyors
Review of internal budgets and risk management
Preparation of sub-contract documentation
Management of sub-contractor/sub-consultant packages on site
Evaluating design changes and appraisal of options
Assessment of sub-contractor/sub-consultant variations
Certification of sub-contractor/sub-consultant applications for payment
Negotiation of sub-contractor/sub-consultant final accounts
Assisting Procurement Department
Submission of monthly internal reports
Client applications
Contract administration
Advise on contractual issues
Ensure commercial compliance of current contracts, protecting the position of the company
Report to Commercial Manager/ Project Director and other appropriate stakeholders as required
Additional duties associated with the role as determined by management
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Right to work in the UK
BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
5 years experience in a similar role
Previous NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4 option C)
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
RICS/CIOB accreditation preferably
Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on building and/or Civils projects
Knowledge of the Welsh
Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
