An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team in Inverness. This is a senior position and we are looking for an individual with excellent analytical skills and a robust knowledge of the construction industry. You will play a key role in a diverse range of projects across the Highlands. There are opportunities for progression with this position.Key Duties and Responsibilities Inception and feasibility liaison with Client s and design team members, advising on procurement options, preparing budget estimates and cash flow projections.Pre-contract cost control preparing and developing preliminary cost plans, cost advice to design teams on forms of design and construction, monitoring cost implications as design develops, refining cost plans, preparing reports and updating cash flow forecasts.Tender and contractual documentation advising on tendering and contractual arrangements, insurances, warranties and bonds. Preparing tender and contract documentation and advising on the use of standard and non-standard forms of contractTender selection and appraisal advising on the selection of suitable tenderers, checking tender submissions, advising and negotiating on errors and qualifications, and preparing reports on tenders with appropriate recommendations.Interim valuations Remeasurement and preparation of recommendations for interim payments to contractorsPost-contract cost control valuations of Architect s draft instructions, preparation of financial statements and cashflow projections at specified intervals. Advising on all elements of cost control, liquidated and ascertained damages, delay / disruptions and ascertainment of loss and/or expense claims.Final account preparation, negotiation and agreement of final accounts, resolving complex and diverse contractual disputesPreparation of Employer s Requirements, checking Contractor s Proposals, Chairing and minuting progressing meetings; acting as Employer s Agent on Design and Build Contracts.A commitment to Continued Professional DevelopmentProvide supervisory support and mentoring to Quantity Surveyors, Graduate Quantity Surveying staffBusiness Development Ideally you should also have Ability to act as Principal Designer (Under CDM Regulations) or Adviser to Client Person Specification Corporate Member or Fellow of the RICSExperience of NEC4 ContractsExtensive experience demonstrating an excellent all-round knowledge of all aspects of Quantity Surveying dutiesSubstantial knowledge of contractual and legislative responsibilitiesAbility to work unsupervised and deputise for the Principal QSAbility to provide supervisory support and mentoring to Quantity Surveyors and Graduate Quantity Surveying staffGood negotiation and communication skillsAbility to work to deadlines and under pressureExperience of IT systems including MS Office, AutoCAD and specialist QS software (Causeway)Experience of business developmentYou will be expected to travel between various work locations within the Moray and Highland area Ideally you will also have Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety To have a confidential conversation and find out more about this role please contact Lyndsey at Global Highland
