About the Role
This role is responsible for leading and supporting all quality aspects impacting, sustaining and improving the plant performance.
The role will also deputise for the Quality Manager, with responsibilities including leadership and direction of the Quality team, reporting requirements and escalation support where required.
Your Responsibilities
Support quality management and site management objectives and tasks
Support quality management and site management reporting requirements
Contribute towards the development and delivery of department and individual objectives to maintain/improve department and business performance
Lead/involvement in continuous improvement activities for plant (quality, lean, scrap, etc.)
Lead/involvement in analysis and problem solving activities (8D, 6-Sigma, etc.)
Support site development and sustainment of QMS in line with standards and customer specific requirements
Work with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain customer and internal quality standards
Support warranty process
Liaison with external parties as required (customers, suppliers, etc.)
Provide regular feedback through various mechanisms i.e. daily, weekly and monthly reviews
Ensure safe operating procedures are adhered to all times
Support coaching and development activities as required
Maintain responsible systems and metrics, including reporting as required
Support internal auditing across the plant (safety, systems, processes, etc.)

Who we are looking for
Essential
Previous experience of leading and coaching teams
Excellent organization skills and management of priorities
Understanding of 7W / lean improvement
Experienced in problem solving leadership with strong analytical skills
Understanding of build standard creation (PFMEA, control plan, working level documents) and implementation / improvement of quality control systems
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of internal and external customers.
Understanding of measurement methods / methodology
PC literacy, including a working knowledge of reporting software, e.g. Microsoft Office
Resilient, self-driven and positive approach
Prepared to work within remit and across functions/levels as required
Systematic and logical approach
Flexibility
Desirable
Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
Experience of working within the automotive sector
6-Sigma trained or trained in other problem solving methodologies (quality tools required)
QMS and quality systems / auditing experience
Project development experience
