Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk

1 year Maternity Contract

�28,000- �32,000 per annum

Monday to Friday 7am-4pm/ 8am-5pm

We are so excited to be working with this fantastically successful business as they recruit for a Purchase Ledger Clerk for a 1 year Maternity Contract, ideally from the start of April. As a Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger function and working closely with the Management Accountant. With your expertise in purchase ledger and MS Office, you will ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices, including high volumes of invoices in multiple currencies. Your role will involve setting up payment runs, using online banking systems, and handling queries and disputes with shipping and haulage companies.

The ideal candidate will have excellent computer system knowledge, as well as strong organisational and communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work well in a small team are paramount. As a Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department and ensuring a smooth operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Check, authorise, and post high volumes of invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Set up payment runs using online banking systems.
  • Utilise MS Office suites, particularly MS Excel, for data analysis and invoice creation.
  • Use in-house accounting software for container upload creation.
  • Manage queries and disputes, including reconciling shipping company statements.
  • Assist with managing the Finance email mailbox and answering the company switchboard.
  • Ensure invoices are processed and filed electronically.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Purchase Ledger, including knowledge of all-round processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance multiple demands.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior staff.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change and guidance.
  • Own transport is required.
