Role: Senior Project Manager
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a space planning exercise at our office located in the former GWR engine house in Swindon. The project involves consulting with various stakeholders, including unions and tenants, to deliver a fit-out of the office according to revised space plans.
Responsibilities:
Project Management :
Develop and deliver the project in accordance with our Project Management Process.
Work with the Senior Responsible Officer to ensure an effective Project Board is in place.
Ensure a robust business case is developed and regularly reviewed.
Create and manage project logs and registers.
Break down the project into manageable stages, following the RIBA plan of works.
Ensure strong processes for health and safety, management of designers, and financial management.
Health & Safety :
Ensure compliance with Construction Design and Management Regulations.
Review the technical skills of the design team and ensure suitably competent designers are formally appointed.
Ensure a suitable and sufficient Construction Phase Health and Safety plan is in place before works commence on-site.
Ensure that all projects are handed over to the Facilities Management team with proper documentation, including the Health and Safety File.
Stakeholder Management :
Liaise with the Facilities Management team to develop delivery plans.
Manage relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
Provide regular updates and coordinate with local management teams.
Coordinate regular progress meetings and maintain a cooperative working culture.
Budgets and Contract Management :
Responsible for financial expenditure within project budget constraints.
Prepare detailed budget estimates and ensure accurate monthly budget forecasts and reconciliations.
Ensure robust contract management and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project performance.
Line Management :
Directly manage any new team members recruited for the project.
Use tools like PDRs, monthly 1:1 meetings, and training programs to develop team members.
Ensure compliance with annual leave, expenses, and HR policies.
Requirements:
Proven track record of delivering successful capital works projects on time and on budget.
Strong understanding of Public Sector regulations affecting the role.
Knowledge of Building Regulations and experience with CDM regulations.
Prince II Practitioner or member of APM or equivalent.
Pragmatic approach to work with good judgment in managing workload.
