Senior Project ManagerNHS AfC: Band 7 Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a unique organisation, serving as the sole integrated provider in the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire system. Job overviewTo lead the planning and delivery of multiple projects within the Estates department in accordance with principals of good project management and to high technical standards, as set out in statutory guidance and HTM/HBNs. Projects will be delivered for the benefit of staff and patients at GWHFT and this is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the local community.Main duties of the job1. This post holder will be instrumental in providing a technical leadership and support to both the facilities management and project management within the Estates team. This post will be fundamental indeveloping Project specifications written within the HTM, HBN and support clinical and estates managersin delivering excellent care.2. Ensure effective communication with all Staff from all disciplines and locations across the Trust to ensuresafe working environments across the estate.- Directors & Senior Managers from across the Trust.- Compliance, Governance and Finance leads across the Trust.- Colleagues in GWH NHS Foundation Trust & other public sector organisations.3. When required, to support the Estates Senior management team in specialised contracts/specifications.4. Managing and issuing instructions to providers (NHS PS, SERCO, PFI Providers and private landlords)and contractors.6. Build effective working relationships with all PFI, contractors, staff, and local management to establishco-operation and agreement of any works.7. Represent the Trust in System level meetings.8. Provide detailed monthly reports on projects to capital investment committee / EFM Board / ProjectBoards as required.9. Provide structured project management to colleagues from clinical and operational backgrounds10. Lead in the provision of an Estates PMO for minor works.Page 2 of 511. Liaise with council planning services during the complex development and delivery of projects, analysingand resolving any issues that arise.12. Provide technical advice and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of projects.13. To maintain up to date knowledge and to interpret and apply legislation, national & local policies/issuesin relation to the Trust EstatePerson specificationQualificationsConstruction related degree or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through courses and experience to master’s level or equivalentPrince 2 Project Management or equivalentMembership to a suitable Engineering body i.e., CIOB, ICE, RICSExperienceManagement of project delivery within a similar context of schemes up to £1m in valueExperience of working in a structured environment with clear project management processes and reporting documentationManagement of multiple contractors including reviewing RAMS & programmes of workWorking within a consultant PM organisationOperating within the context of an Estates PMOKnowledge of a PFI hospitalExperience of a clerk of the works type roleExperience of working within the NHSThank you for expressing interest in this role. Payment for DBS checks for bank posts must be settled prior to commencement.
