This role will appeal to candidates looking for an interesting Senior Project Manager role working for a well known leader with a fantastic work culture. The role of the Senior Project Manager is to ensure all assigned projects are properly planned, budgeted, organised, directed, monitored and controlled to safely meet customer requirements and agreed timescales and company financial objectivesBe the prime customer point of contact manage relationships with all stakeholdersProvide leadership for the cross functional team (Sales, Technical, Quality, Production) with accountabilities for successful delivery of the customer projectExternal supply chain management to ensure externally sourced parts and services are delivered on time and to cost and quality requirementsMaintain a close working relationship with key customer stakeholders to identify project requirements and critical delivery dates and plansRepresent the Company at external customer meetings and facilitate customer communications to resolve issues and develop shared plans and objectivesEnsure a regular cycle of project review governance meetings to meet the requirements of external customers at all levelsManage all assigned project activity through a multi-functional project team to could include technical, quality, operations, planning, finance, and purchasingLead the pre-contract internal review process to ensure potential issues are raised early and mitigation actions put in placeManage project budgets and plans to deliver OTIF and to budgetManage issues and risks proactively to minimise any adverse impact on the project schedule or costEnsure actions are decisions are in place to deliver projects to customer requirementsEstablish effective change control processes to manage customers’ needs as the project evolves and maintain effective budget and margin controlWork closely with the production planning and operational teams to ensure customer priorities are reflected in the various project schedules, resource and equipment plansEnsure project governance is in place to resolve operational issues and progress outstanding actionsProvide input to the appropriate Sales Manager for quotation letters and pre-contract activities to ensure they reflect customer priorities and previous learningTo be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:Proven track record for planning, executing, controlling and closing projects and the ability to manage multiple large complex projects simultaneouslyExtensive knowledge of project / programme management principles, tools and techniques ideally in a heavy engineering / manufacturing industry Excellent problem structuring and solving skillsExcellent commercial acumen and the ability to take decisions on difficult and ambiguous issuesExcellent communication skills (oral and written)An appreciation of QA, inspections, testing and documentation requirementsHighly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and MS ProjectSuccessful track record of leading and delivering large scale complex technical projects/programmesPreviously responsible for budgets, involved in budget setting and a good working knowledge of financial processes.Previous experience of building relationships with customers and suppliers and sustaining these relationships through difficult contract performance reviews and negotiationsExperience of managing to KPIs and establishing project control mechanismsThe successful candidate will benefit from 25 days holiday plus stats, Westfield health, 10% pension, Monday to Friday office hours, one day working from home, flexible core hours and on site car parking.
