What you will enjoy doing This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact and join our projects team to plan, deliver and implement projects safely, within budget and on timeIn this role, you will be using your commercial awareness, to ensure that project design and costs developed are competitive & fit for purpose to deliver the required returns/win new 3rd party salesYou will be developing project proposals in order to outline the project and acquire business agreementResponsible for identifying and reporting project risks, ensuring that the appropriate strategies are implementedAs part of this role you will use variation management to increase sales and limit or control supplier/contractor variationsAs a Senior Project Engineer you will also plan and co-ordinate engineering resource (both internal & external) to implement projectsIt will be your responsibility to ensure that contractors demonstrate ownership and understanding of our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy and objectives and that the teams follow statutory requirements, our company policies and proceduresYou will build effective relationships with key customers and suppliers to seek and act on their feedback to ensure the department is customer-centric and adaptableYou will lead site construction activities such as contractor controls, permit to work, working at height, plant installations, mechanical and electrical installations, testing and commissioning, pressure testing, acceptance, as built data, health and safety files, operating and maintenance manuals What makes you great You have a degree/HNC/HND Engineering qualification in a mechanical/electrical field or the equivalent plus c. 3 years practical industrial experience (post graduate scheme or equivalent) in a relevant fieldKnowledge in project engineering in either a contracting or operating environment, proposals, tendering, sub-contract activity, financial/cost managementYou have a consistent track record of project engineering on time, to cost and to the appropriate SHEQ standardsFurthermore, you have a professional membership to IMechE, IChemE, APM, IET or equal and are working towards ChartershipYou work with integrity, role modelling the behaviours aligned to being an inclusive workplaceAnd finally, an IOSH/NEBOSH certificate is desirable but not essential
