Location: Southend-on-Sea

Key Responsibilities
*Take responsibility for all aspects of private venture programmes/design projects, including estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
*Execute projects by coordinating with design team members, engineers, and various company departments, as well as external contractors/consultants.
*Monitor engineering progress against plans and schedules.
*Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards throughout the project(s).
*Prepare and submit reports on the progress and status of prPrepare, review, and approve design, verification, validation, qualification, and certification documents.
*Review/approve new drawings, specifications, and drawing modifications using CAD and data management systems.
*Participate in certification and qualification test activities, liaising with internal/external resources as required.
*Approve and submit certification applications to Airworthiness Authorities.
*Liaise with customers and departments as necessary.
*Lead risk assessments and actively manage project risks.
*Participate/lead team meetings.
*Establish working relationships with operations management to minimize operational impact during project execution.
*Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
*Support team members with tasks as necessary.
*Support the creation and maintenance of a safe working environment, observing Health and Safety procedures.
Experience and Skills
*Proven experience in project engineering or aerospace engineering development.
*Experience with aircraft or defence products in a multi-disciplinary context.
*Proficiency in design, testing, qualifying, and certifying avionics products.
*Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
*Ability to read drawings and schematics.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Project).
*Demonstrable leadership in multi-disciplinary projects, delivering complex products on-time, to specification, and within budget.
*Solid understanding of engineering principles, including thermal management, electrical and mechanical systems, and reliability engineering.
*Understanding of DO-160 and avionics equipment qualification process.
*Knowledge of FDA requirements relating to equipment for the preparation of food.
*Familiarity with development processes and related quality and configuration management processes, using DOORS and CATIA.
*Effective delegation skills while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
*Comfortable and capable of leading teams.
*Strong mentoring, training, and coaching skills for junior colleagues.
*Demonstrable ability to engage with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
*Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
*Willingness and ability to travel and work overseas from time to time.

Working Hours
Full-time hours: 39 Hours
Mon - Thurs: 8:00 - 17:00 (30 mins lunch)
Fri: 8:00 - 13:00 (no lunch)
