Senior Project Development Manager - Onshore Wind

Responsibilities
The role is responsible for wind energy project sites through the development cycle, from site identification through to NTP.
Development & Project Management
Identify and assess development prospects, conducting thorough site assessments and initial site reconnaissance. Research potential project sites and communities, evaluating project feasibility. Develop and execute project strategies and plans, overseeing all project development activities such as project schedules, budgets, and cash flow projections. Ensure compliance with project contracts, regulatory requirements, and coordinate with internal/external technical support as needed. Interface with subject matter experts/contractors for resource assessment, interconnection, design, financial modelling, regulatory compliance, and permitting.
Land Acquisition & Community Relations
Develop acquisition plans for new project sites, securing site control and engaging with landowners. Coordinate landowner meetings, community events, and maintain accurate landowner contact records. Cultivate positive relationships with customers, landowners, and government officials. Manage relationships with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders to achieve a positive reputation, etc.
Resource Assessment & Environmental Compliance
Coordinate site resource monitoring and data management. Support the completion of resource assessment reports. Research local, state, and federal regulations for project development. Manage consultants for permitting and regulatory tasks, supporting state, federal, and local permitting processes. Assist in environmental studies.
Origination
Assist in the origination of project offtake opportunities. Develop support materials for offtake opportunities, including RFPs.
Qualifications
5+ years of Project Development in onshore wind energy, from site identification to NTP. Expertise in zoning and permitting for windenergy projects. Familiarity with utility interconnection processes. Hands-on and detail-oriented with strong ownership of work. Able to manage multiple projects at once. High emotional intelligence for virtual collaboration. Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project/Smartsheet, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Earth. Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills.
Travel
Location is flexible/remote with up to 50% travel. Travel to project site(s) when needed Monthly development meetingsand bi-annual company events at HQ in Minnesota.
