JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Objective:The main objective of this role is to provide comprehensive corporate project controls system cost, planning, scheduling and progress measurement support across the Wood business by assisting with the continued development and delivery of the Project Controls toolset.This role involves working with the project controls systems team, supporting in the delivery of various initiatives and includes areas of start-up, monitor, control, intervention and future enhancement development.RESPONSIBILITIESKey Accountabilities & Responsibilities:Project Controls System SupportAct as Project Controls System Focal point and provide direction, guidance and support to the project controls community as required.Have a detailed working knowledge of the Project Controls systems portfolio and the application of these tools.Work to identify and resolve technical problems with Project Controls systems.Assist with the configuration and implementation of Project Controls systems within established standards and guidelines.Engage and collaborate other technical teams (internal and external) as appropriate to escalate and resolve problems received from business users.Record, analyse and document technical issues and fixes.Develop & deliver project controls system training sessions and functionality demonstrations to a range of audiences.Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood HSE processes.Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood Quality Assurance systems and processes.Project Controls SupportSupport the implementation of the standard Power BI project controls reporting suite.Assist with the development of new Power BI reports.QUALIFICATIONSQualifications:Typically requires ISCED Level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).Knowledge, skills and experience:Relevant Project Controls cost or planning experience.Experienced with Office 365 suite of applications, in particular Word and Excel.Working knowledge of project planning software such as Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques.Demonstrable aptitude in understanding Information Systems.Has a good knowledge and understanding of how to apply standards, procedures and work practices which define and govern Project Controls.Knowledge and appreciation of the core tenets of Contracts Management, Commercial Management and Project Management.Good skills in project and technical execution with an excellent understanding of Work Breakdown & Cost Breakdown Structures (WBS & CBS) and project reporting capabilities.Fully understands technical work scopes including commercial aspects and has working knowledge of specifications and standards.Strong understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending, what-if scenarios and other monitoring techniques.Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers / stakeholders.Commercially astute and able to implement Change Management and control.Good communicator in leading work effort; motivates team; positive and active in solutions and proactive attitude.Competent at managing technical matters and interfaces with Third Parties.Knowledge of Power BI preferred.Personal Attributes:Demonstrates commitment to Wood Values, Visions & Behaviours.Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.Strong numerical and analytical skills.Strong planning, organising and execution skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment.Excellent communication skills both written and oral.Ability to guide, mentor & lead others.Uses initiative and experience with a proactive approach to problem solving and improvement development.Has focus on customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers / stakeholders.
