We are looking for permanent machine operator to join our production team.

This is a shift-based role working 2 days and 2 nights then 4 off. The role offers varied tasks and a great range of benefits including potential career progression.

About the Role

The main purpose of this role is to run and operate a paper manufacturing machine to ensure we are producing top quality recycled tissue.

duties include

  • To be able to operate the Paper Machine to a high standard of safety and good housekeeping.
  • To fully understand the entire papermaking process.
  • To identify faults and make suggestions for remedy.
  • To identify issues with Quality, report in logs and communicate to the team members
  • To provide suitable and sufficient cover for the Team Leader in their absence.
  • To test each reel manufactured off the Paper Machine, Record, analyse and make any adjustments necessary to ensure the product is manufactured to the specification required.
  • To be able to both start up and shutdown the Paper Machine safely and efficiently.
  • To lead and/or assist with Paper Machine clothing changes as necessary.
  • To undertake appropriate Risk Assessments. Carry out the management of risks effectively and efficiently

Essential Skills
  • NVQ Level 2 which includes Math's, English and IT or equivalent
  • A recognised Leadership Qualification
  • A recognised Health and Safety Qualification such as Managing Safely
  • LEAN Understanding
  • A high level of competency and understanding of all Production departments
  • Excellent Problem-Solving ability
  • Proven track record of managing people
  • Good communication skills
  • A current Fork Lift Truck License
