Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in shaping procurement strategies within a vibrant and diverse environment? The Procurement, Contracts, and Grants team is calling for an enthusiastic individual to join our team. MOPAC are looking to recruit a Senior Procurement Manager to manage the day-to-day work of the newly established Procurement Team. The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor, and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities. The main responsibilities of the role:
Leading the operational management of the Procurement Team and managing c. 3 officers. Providing advice, guidance and support on procurement matters arising as a skilled procurement professional. Providing a high-quality service to commissioners by being proactive, supportive, and willing to go the extra step - taking a teamwork focussed approach. Preparing Procurement Documents, using our e-tendering system, and publishing the required transparency notices. Working collaboratively and communicating effectively with commissioning officers and other internal stakeholders throughout procurement processes. Having oversight of all procurement activity at MOPAC, forecasting upcoming requirements, and developing new ways of working to improve processes. Working in sync with the Contracts and Grants Management Team to ensure proper execution of agreements and a streamlined approach within the wider Team. Working with the TfL Collaborative Procurement Team on collaborative procurement projects.
We're seeking a forward-thinking individual to help elevate our procurement function and champion a professional approach that aligns seamlessly with MOPAC's goals. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to influence and innovate, driving positive change within a fast-paced and political landscape. If you are looking for a challenge and thrive in environments where your drive and adaptability shine, we want to hear from you! Key to success in this role is a deep understanding of public procurement legislation frameworks and a track record of successfully managing diverse procurement processes from start to finish. Your commercial acumen and risk-aware mindset will be invaluable assets as you navigate complex challenges to safeguard MOPAC's interests. Many of our suppliers are voluntary and community sector organisations and the services we procure fall under the light touch regime, so knowledge and experience in these areas is particularly welcomed. We are looking for a passionate advocate who embodies MOPAC's values and is dedicated to our mission. Your ability to provide excellent service, coupled with a genuine understanding of commissioners' needs and challenges, will be instrumental in driving our success forward. Collaboration is key, as is a firm grasp of our priorities, particularly in supporting victims and preventing violence. We're committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we need someone who shares that commitment. This role will be pivotal in ensuring our procurement processes foster innovation, deliver value for money, and address the disproportionate impacts on minoritised communities. Join us in making a tangible difference to the lives of Londoners. Applying for the Role
