Position Summary
Position: Senior Process Engineer
Location: Barrow (Terminal site)
Duration: 1 year with potential extension
Rotation: 7 days on/off (11-hour day)
Summary
Provide day-to-day discipline engineering expertise to the asset's operations organisation (including shutdowns) ensuring continued safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations. Use process engineering principles to optimize production. Bring engineering rigor and good practice to fault finding and incident investigation. Provide a direct link.
Accountabilities
Responsibility for maintaining as-built process models and asset-critical process documentation.
Responsibility for asset Heat & Mass Balances and key equipment capacity details.
Responsibility for the integrity of the SECE barriers owned by Process discipline (overpressure protection, depressurization, blanket, and purge gas & hazardous open drains systems).
Responsibility for key process documents, such as PFD’s and P&ID’s, and support to other discipline key documents such as C&E’s, etc.
Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of UK COMAH legislations pertaining to the safe operation of onshore hydrocarbon processes. Demonstrate an expert understanding of process engineering principles and practical application. Ability to use HYSYS and Microsoft Office tools effectively. Use of PI data historian for trend analysis and production optimization. SAP experience, particularly SAP PM.
Requirements
Experience of providing process engineering support to front-line operation of a major offshore production or onshore processing facility. Significant and extensive knowledge of Process and Major Accident Hazard (MAH) prevention technical practices and legislation, which would be underpinned by technical achievements in process engineering discipline in the energy or chemical industry. Demonstrable experience of operations within complex Oil/Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical plant.
