Our Catalyst Technologies engineering team is at the heart of these efforts.Your role as a Senior Process Engineer in Johnson Matthey may involve early-stage proposals design, preparing process design packages
through to supporting our customers in starting up and optimising their plants, as well as process improvement and R&D for the next generation of technologies. With CT at the forefront of the transition to sustainable chemicals and fuels, the transition to net zero is creating exciting new opportunities in this sector.Johnson Matthey is open for discussion on full-time, part-time, job share and flexible working patterns.If you feel that you don’t quite fit all of the skills and duties listed below, but have other relevant or transferable skills, we welcome you to apply.Your responsibilities:Execute and Lead process engineering design activities, following JM standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by the Lead Engineer / Technology Manager / Project ManagerDevelop and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets and drawings to specify the process engineering requirements of our technologiesDevelop new process technology working closely with the Engineering teams and R&D group.Develop Basic Engineering Packages, including preparation/checking of heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development, hydraulic and process safety design. Ensure JM health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated workGive quality and competitive technical advice to customers (internal and external) and suppliers, and seek consultation as required.Broaden technical and commercial understanding of JM technologies.Requirements for the role:Degree in Chemical Engineering– Chartered Status preferredRelevant experience in refinery and petrochemical processes e.g., Fischer tropsch, hydroformylation, hydrogenation, esterification, steam methane reforming, acid gas removal, methanol, ammonia, water gas shift and distillation.Proven process engineering design experience with technical safety and environmental aspectsProficient in use of Engineering Software, eg Hysys, ProII, Aspen+ is an added advantageA self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiativeDemonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectivesHow you will be rewarded:We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including bonus, excellent pension contributions and 25 days annual leave (varies for shift-based roles).At JM, an inclusive culture is integral to our values and ambitions for the future.
