Senior/Principal Energy and Carbon Consultant

Overview of role
This role sits within an innovative Sustainability and Engineering consultancy practice. They are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior / Principal Consultant to join their Sustainability Masterplanning team in London. You will work with an expansive portfolio of projects in the UK and overseas, to deliver strategic consultancy and policy advice to support preplanning services on major regeneration projects, in addition to leading in the advancement of energy and carbon strategies for new and existing developments. To be successful in the role you will need relevant experience in Energy Consulting or Building Services, with an interest in site wide energy infrastructure and energy Masterplanning, including low carbon heating, energy networks, and renewables.
Role responsibilities and requirements
Support clients in the development of zero-carbon routemaps, identifying all possibilities
Communicating and delivering high-quality technical advice, client reports, technical publications, presentations, and training materials
Carrying out feasibility studies, reviewing different options against whole life carbon and cost criteria
Supervision of energy and carbon modelling team
Providing strategic energy and smart infrastructure design support
Preparing Sustainability and Energy Statements for planning, with a focus on sustainable development and decarbonisation
Key skills and qualities needed
BEng/BSc in Energy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership with relevant body.
Experience in the design and delivery of MEP strategies across RIBA Stages.
Residential energy modelling, including SAP and PHPP.
Enhanced operational modelling using CIBSE TM54 and dynamic simulation (IES or similar).
Interest in low carbon retrofit and energy audits for existing estates.
Proactive approach to sharing knowledge and nurturing the development of others.
Strong communication skills across all areas
