About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner (Social Worker) to join our dynamic Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is a locum role offering £33.30 per hour for 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults by working collaboratively with multiple agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Triage:
Conduct timely and thorough assessments of referrals, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable adults.
Collaboration:
Work closely with professionals from various agencies including police, health services, education, and housing to share information and make informed decisions.
Case Management:
Manage a caseload of complex cases, providing expert advice and support to less experienced staff.
Safeguarding:
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place to protect those at risk.
Reporting:
Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports for multi-agency meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings.
Supervision:
Provide supervision and mentorship to junior social workers, supporting their professional development and practice.
Crisis Intervention:
Respond to emergency situations with swift and effective action to safeguard individuals in immediate danger.
Policy and Practice:
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices within the MASH.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
Registration with Social Work England.
Significant experience in a social work role, with a strong focus on safeguarding.
Proven ability to manage complex cases and work effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication, assessment, and analytical skills.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a MASH or duty and assessment environment.
Supervisory or management experience.
Personal Attributes:
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
High level of empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to continuous professional development and improving practice standards.
